We all have them! Nope, we can’t hide them because they will reveal themselves in humiliating and horrifying ways. My biggest weakness is computer technology. If a potential agent or casting agent sees this while considering me as a talent, I promise I’ve come pretty far in my education. But true confession here, I’m almost bald from pulling my hair out.

Just installing the damn computer and setting up my booth sent me into therapy. So many tears, creative profanity and multiple head bumps on the corners of my desk! And all those frigging wires and outlets really had me screaming incoherently. Audacity use was an education all by itself. I took forever learning the basics. It was a full month of “Record,” and “stop,” before I figured out a few editing thingees.

I am easily overwhelmed by anything mechanical, digital and “cloud” based. Watching TV with four remotes, well, I just won’t do it! Thankfully, I figured out You tube. Don’t get me started on my woes in learning to text, self video and just make a damn cell phone call. So, you get the picture (Did I click the camera???)

Yes, I am very late getting into the 21st century of technology. Didn’t want to go there anyway. But, I’m here because I have to be. So, I am forcing myself to grasp at least one new kernel of tech skill a day. Tech manuals may as well be Latin. Video tutorials always seem to be done on a foreign looking screen – it never looks like mine. Come to find out, my computer is a Mac and the You tube version is a Windows. You mean there is a difference???? Then what is worse, the particular solution I’m looking for always seems to be overlooked.

Yet! I’ve learned a lot due to the kindness of my peers, coaches, friends and even strangers. Thank God for Facebook buddies! I’m persistent to the point of annoying everyone as well as myself. You just do what you have to do, right?

So many of you may love acquiring new gear. Not me right now. If its working and I’ve learned to make friends with it, that is great for me. I’m the same way with my car. But a funny thing is my internet just went down and I’ve been without email, server access for browsing and downloading and I’m sobbing with rage. My computer is down! My world has stopped cold and I’m having a panic attack!

And I still can’t tell you what an app or a cookie is!
